Science at Georges Vanier

To study Science is to undertake a quest for where we come from, who we are, and where we are going. Science studies can lead to post-secondary studies in Medicine and the Health Sciences, Engineering Science, Environmental Science, and Architectural Science.
  • Our teachers prepare students for the advanced placement exams in the three Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Biology).
  • Each year some of our students write the Avogadro Exam (University of Waterloo) in grade 11.
  • The Chem 13, News Exam (University of Waterloo) in grade 12.
  • The National Biology Exam (the University of Toronto) in grade 12.
  • The Ontario Association of Physics Teacher's Exam in grade 11.
  • The Sir Isaac Newton Exam (University of Waterloo) in grade 12.

Math at Georges Vanier

Beyond providing a full mathematics programs, the math department successfully coaches interested students in writing the Cayley, Fermat, and Euclid math competitions, as well as the Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge offered by the University of Waterloo. Our Math Club members are aggressively competing monthly with students from schools across Canada in the Canadian National Mathematics League initiated by the University of Windsor.
