What is the VIP Card?

VIP is an acronym that stands for ‘Vanier Identification Photo’. The VIP card is a card that must be worn by all students and staff at all time around the school.

The VIP Card serves as a tool of identifying all Vanier students and staff on school property and attending school events.

How and when to wear the VIP Card

The VIP Card must be worn on school property and at school events, in a visible area above the waist and below the neck.

Why should students use a VIP Card

  • The main purpose of the card is to ensure your safety by identifying intruders.
  • You must have a VIP Card or SAC Card to belong to a club or organization.
  • It is required for library use and internet use.
  • It is required as I.D. to write examinations.
  • The VIP card is also a student card which serves proof of your student status. This allows you to obtain many student benefits and student discounts outside the school.

Why if you don’t have a VIP Card?

  • You will not be able to use school facilities, including the library.
  • If you leave you card at home, one warning will be given. A suspension may be given for the second offence.

Where can I get a VIP Card

  • At the beginning of each year, VIP photos are taken of every student in the school.
  • If you have left your VIP card at home or do not have one, you may obtain a day pass from the office.
  • The data centre will assist you in obtaining another VIP card against a fee of $5.00.
